Violations of NCAA legislation involving: impermissible recruiting of a prospect by a representative of the institution's athletics interests; impermissible phone calls and text messages; impermissible inducements; impermissible entertainment; unethical conduct; failure to promote an atmosphere for compliance and failure to monitor by the institution.

Additional penalties imposed by the committee were as follows: public reprimand and censure; three years of probation (the institution proposed a two-year period); reduction by one from 13 to 12 the permissible numbers of grants-in-aid in the sport of men's basketball for the 2012-13 academic year (the institution self imposed this penalty for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 academic years); reduction by 40, from 130 to 90, the permissible number of "recruiting person days" for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 academic years (the institution self imposed this penalty for the 2010-11 academic year only); limited to no more than five official paid visits in the sport of men's basketball for the 2011-012 and 2012-13 academic years; show-cause order placed on the former operations director for a period of three years; the head coach is suspended from all coaching duties for the first three conference games of the 2011-12 season; informing all prospective men's basketball student-athlete the term of probation for the institution; requirement that the institution permanently disassociate the representative of the institution's athletics interests involved in this case; annual compliance reporting required.
