IMPROPER RECRUITING: improper entertainment and material benefit provided to a club coach of prospective student-athletes; entertainment not included in student-host allowance; prospective student-athletes received excessive telephone contacts; EXTRA BENEFITS: mother of a student-athlete received impermissible transportation; student-athletes received free meals; student-athletes received a free meal during the official visit of three prospects, even though neither was a student host; UNETHICAL CONDUCT.

Limit of 6 official visits during the 1998-99 and 1999-00 academic years; termination of employment of the head men's basketball coach; private letter of reprimand from the conference; require all full-time men's basketball coaches to attend an NCAA compliance seminar; compliance review conducted by the conference during the 1997-98 academic year; expansion of rules-education program to educate student-athletes on extra-benefit legislation; provision of annual compliance reports to the conference; former head men's basketball coach's current employer expand monitoring of recruiting and submit report to committee; recertification; annual reports.
