Pursuant to Bylaw 19.10.6, this negotiated resolution has no precedential value. This case centered on Khalif Wyatt’s impermissible sports betting activities, which occurred while he was employed as the volunteer assistant men’s basketball coach at West Chester University of Pennsylvania (West Chester). Specifically, from July 2022 through November 2022, Wyatt placed at least 498 bets totaling approximately $176,326 on professional and collegiate athletics competitions, including $54,662 on NCAA football.
The COI approved the parties' agreed-upon penalties, including one year of probation with specific sports betting education requirements for West Chester, a $2,500 fine to the NCAA and a three-year specific show-cause order for Wyatt.
